Improving Accessibility: Spearheading the security token revolution

[New York City, June 8, 2018] Alexander Tkachenko, MBA, founder and CEO of Venture Exchange (VNX), the first venture capital digital asset exchange (DAX), will speak at the World Blockchain Forum in New York City on June 12th, 2018, at 11.50 am EST.

At the conference Alexander will speak about ‘The token revolution for traditional asset classes’. His ambition is to unlock the $1 trillion plus venture capital industry as an asset class for millions of professional and private investors by creating a liquid marketplace that will increase the industry’s capital velocity.

Looking at the ICO market, which was estimated at $6.1 bn in 2017, one can clearly see that it is still a fraction of its closest neighbor – Venture Capital, which alone has over $1tn in assets under management, according to McKinsey.

“Despite the rapid rise of ICOs and crypto currencies, these numbers clearly show that the token industry is still in its infancy. When you think of the real potential of asset tokenization, it becomes quite clear that the actual work is only starting now.” – says Alexander.

The next steps will be tokenization of the private markets, that include private equity, real estate and other private capital funds, which collectively hold an estimated $5.2tn in assets under management (according to McKinsey). All of these markets have the potential to be unlocked for a huge global investor base through blockchain.

“We at VNX firmly believe that the token revolution will happen“, Alexander says. “It will require three things: regulatory clarity, investor protection and compatibility with current market standards. Venture Exchange aims to have all three of these success factors as well as real-time liquidity, transparency and security”.

Alexander Tkachenko, a Luxembourg entrepreneur and angel investor, founded in Luxembourg the early stage venture capital fund 2be.lu, with successful investments in 12 companies focused on the sharing economy, artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. In 2017 he launched Venture Exchange (www.VNX.io).
